Scoring with bad signal or offline

Keep scoring. Open your scoring link once with signal and it works with none for the rest of the round; scores wait on your phone and send themselves when you’re back in signal.

Scorer

Open your scoring link once while you have signal, say at the hotel or the clubhouse. Your phone keeps a copy of the scorecard and the leaderboard, and the card shows Ready offline. After that it opens, reloads and saves scores with no signal at all, even if your phone closes the page.

The header tells you what’s happening:

You seeIt means
SavedThe score reached the server.
Still savingWeak signal; the save is still on its way.
Not saved · retryingIt’s waiting on your phone and will send itself.
Offline · N pendingYou’re offline with N scores waiting.
Ready offlineThis scorecard is kept on your phone and works with no signal.

Waiting scores send when your phone reconnects, every 15 seconds, and whenever you open the scorecard. Keep the page open or come back to it. If you change a waiting score, the newer one replaces it.

Good to knowIf a waiting score is refused when it finally sends (say the organizer moved that player), you’ll see A score saved offline was not accepted. Check it and enter it again. Private-browsing modes that block storage can’t hold scores offline, so a failed save shows an error instead.
